Good ‘ol Guggulsterones

Guggulsterone is a plant that comes from the resin of guggul, a tree found in northern India. There are two kinds of guggulsterones: E-guggulsterone and Z-guggulsterone. (Singh 2015) E-guggulsterone contains high potency and has a yellow color. Z-guggulsterone on the other hand has a low potency, it is brown in color. Guggulsterones are beneficial in supporting cholesterol levels, helpful in treating arthritis, removing toxins from the body which in turn reduce inflammation as well, and aiding in weight management. (Singh, 2015) Also, guggulsterones are useful in treating skin conditions, such as acne for example.

Furthermore, according to a few studies, guggulsterones have been used for their thyroid stimulating properties. (South, 2007) When the thyroid gland is stimulated it creates additional thyroid hormones like thyroxin, the thyroid hormones have a positive effect on the rate of metabolism. Basically, these additional thyroid hormones being produced burn fat.
